gwauthy@msn.comMission Statement:
Based on Jesus’ mission statement in Luke 4: 16-21, St. Jerome Peace and Justice is the primary resource and catalyst for the work of social justice in the parish.
History:
The Peace and Justice Ministry was created in answer to the call of the sixth Pastoral Initiative of the Archdiocesan Synod that strongly urged parishes “to provide a social justice ministry to raise the consciousness of parishioners by educating and informing them on various issues of social justice.”
Goals:
- To provide parishioners with an understanding and grasp of the Catholic social teaching of the Church.
- To foster the participation of the parishioners in social justice programs and activities.
- To network with other social justice organizations outside of the parish.
